St John’s with St Mary’s have supported Crosslinks since 1922 when it was launched as BCMS - the Bible Churchmen’s Missionary Society. Our forbears recognised the need to teach the apostolic witness of who Jesus is and why he came. This is why they chose Revelation 1:9 as their motto “for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ”.
Crosslinks is an international mission society with its roots in the Bible, working largely within the worldwide Anglican Communion. Crosslinks aim is to make Christ known through the teaching of God's Word in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is done mostly by organising gospel partnerships across cultural boundaries. God's Word is the authority for all this work, therefore Crosslinks are creative in mission and continually developing fresh ways of taking God's Word to God's world.
During the past few months Kate Randle has been working with the South African Sports Ministry Organisation in relation to the World Cup. Thank God for all the volunteers who helped served during the season. Pray for them as they return to their countries and particularly for the Brazilian group who will now start making plans for their outreach programme in 2014. Pray for all the children who heard something of the love of God through the outreach. David Saunders |
